CEMARK has an exciting opportunity to join the CAPEX Projects team in Kyiv, Kamianets-Podilskyi or Rivne as a Design Manager who will be responsible for leading the design and engineering phase of capital investment projects, ensuring that all technical solutions meet project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance, also to standartise solutions and approaches.  This role involves managing design processes, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, overseeing engineering consultants, and ensuring that designs align with project objectives in terms of cost, quality, and functionality.

Key responsibilities:

Design Management & Coordination:

  • Lead and oversee the design and engineering processes for Capex projects from concept to execution.
  • Ensure that designs align with business needs, operational requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with engineering firms, consultants, and contractors to develop optimal design solutions.

Technical Compliance & Standards:

  • Ensure that all design solutions comply with national and international codes, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.
  • Ensure proper integration of mechanical, electrical, civil, and process design elements in Capex projects.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project managers, procurement, construction teams, and operational departments to ensure alignment of design with project goals.
  • Facilitate design reviews and workshops with internal teams, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Provide technical support during project execution and address design-related issues on-site.

Risk Management & Value Engineering:

  • Identify potential design risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Optimize design solutions to ensure cost efficiency, constructability, and operational performance.
  • Lead value engineering initiatives to enhance project outcomes while reducing costs.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of design revisions, approvals, and technical decisions.
  • Prepare and present design reports, progress updates, and risk assessments to senior management.
  • Ensure smooth handover of design documentation to construction and commissioning teams.

Key requirements:

Engineering & Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of industrial and construction design principles across multiple disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, process).
  • Familiarity with modern design methodologies, 3D modeling, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of national and international standards (ISO, EN, DIN, ASME, etc.) and permitting requirements for industrial projects.

Project & Process Management:

  • Experience in managing design processes within capital investment projects.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple design disciplines and ensure seamless integration.

Problem-Solving & Risk Assessment:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve design-related challenges.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and propose alternative design solutions when needed.

Software & Tools Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project) and document control systems.
