On June 20, 2023, our colleague Mykhailo Katerynchuk was killed on the eastern front line.
Mykhailo was only 28 years old. He was qualified as a diesel locomotive driver and train assembler, and he dreamed of getting a higher education in the railway field as soon as the war ended.
At his young age, he had already come a long way in the military: first, from 2014 to 2017, he defended Ukraine in Donbas, and then, as an experienced fighter, he returned to defend his homeland from the first days of the full-scale war. He received the award "For Courage" of the III degree, the medal "To the Defender of the Fatherland", the cross "For the Defense of Luhansk Airport", the medal "For Military Valor", two ATO participant medals and the medal "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation".
Mykhailo joined our CEMARK team in 2020 as an assistant diesel locomotive driver at the rail transportation section of the Kamianets-Podilskyi plant, and a year later his responsibilities were expanded to include the role of acting train assembler. Mykhailo was well respected among the company's employees. During his work at the company, he proved to be a conscientious and diligent employee who sought to improve himself and constantly move forward.
We will all remember Mykhailo as a heroic young man, open, sincere and hardworking. We are incredibly grateful to him for his service, for his courage and for fighting for our peaceful sky.
On behalf of the entire CEMARK team, we express our sincere condolences and support to the family and friends of our colleague.
