Mykolaiv Cement Plant Issues a Commemorative Stamp Sheet for its 75th Anniversary
On June 14, 2025, the Mykolaiv Cement Plant celebrates the 75th anniversary of its founding. This significant milestone inspired the creation of a unique commemorative stamp sheet, released by Ukrposhta in a limited edition. The issue symbolizes not only the plant’s distinguished history but also its current achievements and future potential.
The history of the Mykolaiv Cement Plant dates back to the post-war period in 1940, when a project for a new enterprise with a capacity of 100,000 tons of Portland cement was approved. However, construction was suspended due to the war, and it was only on June 14, 1950, that the first production line was launched. Since then, the plant has been constantly developing, modernizing and expanding its capacity. In 2013, it became part of the international CRH Group — marking a new chapter of technical upgrades and integration into the global manufacturing landscape.
The idea of creating the commemorative stamp sheet was born from Plant Director Hanna Khromova’s participation in the charitable initiative “Birds of Victory.” This project provided the company with a unique opportunity to combine support for a meaningful cause with a celebration of its own distinctive journey — told through a visual symbol that resonates with everyone.
The stamp itself presents a visual narrative of the path the company has taken over the past 75 years. The composition blends elements of the past, present, and future, while the transition from black-and-white to color imagery reflects the plant’s openness to innovation and confident progress. A key element is the CEMARK logo in the shape of a cement "C" — symbolizing both stability and a commitment to European development standards.
“Mykolaiv Cement Plant is a team that knows how to preserve tradition while looking ahead. We continue to grow, introduce modern technologies, and are confident that our greatest a achievements are yet to come,” said Plant Director Hanna Khromova.
The release of this commemorative stamp sheet is not only a tribute to the plant’s proud legacy but also a reflection of its dynamic evolution and unwavering belief in the future of Ukrainian industry.
